A collection of things we love, things we do and people who inspire us.
We're stoked to announce that the Strong Man is coming back to town as our autumnal espresso, and he's promising a show like never before.
This year our Strong Man Espresso takes us to Southern Honduras and to the farm of Santos Guevara Lopez. And as always we'll be raising funds and awareness for our long term charity partner; the Movember Foundation. Read more
This month we were fortunate to have a very special guest fly across continents to come and visit little old us at the roastery. Here at Extract Coffee Roasters we put a huge emphasis on the importance of provenance. Knowing where our beans have come from, how they were grown, and learning about the people who have had an input into their journey from crop to cup is as important to us as our responsibility to creating a top-notch product. At Extract Coffee Roasters, we consider ourselves exceptionally lucky to have friends like The DO Lectures. Established in 2008, The DO Lectures bring people together to talk, share, listen and inspire. Today, DO events are held across three continents; the UK, USA and Australia, and all endeavour to follow the same DO formula: ideas + energy = change. Read more
During a chat with the team at Millican, we were asked about our mission; to make coffee better. It's simple enough. But perhaps we don't explain nearly enough how it is that we do this.
So to remedy that, we're partnering up with Millican once again and are asking everyone how they "make coffee better". Share your moments and win an awesome Millican Connoisseur Coffee Kit and a sweet Extract Coffee Roasters t-shirt. Ready more about you how can get involved here. Read more

A few weeks ago we set off for a trip to Colombia to visit some farms we know, and some others we don’t, to source new and exciting coffees. The trip allowed us to further research some familiar places, like the Veracruz and San Pascual farms, test the new season crop, and bring home a better knowledge and understanding of what makes these coffees great. To that end, this week we are re-launching this season’s Veracruz Espresso... Read more

What goes hand-in-hand with adventure? Coffee, naturally! (In our humble opinion.) So when our friends at Millican told us they wanted to create coffee for travellers, we jumped at the opportunity to get involved with the Millican Coffee Club. This guest post comes from the team at Millican about their experience working with us and the motivation to create the new 50th Ascent coffee. Take it away Millican... Read more

A couple of weeks ago, our green-fingered roaster Sean drove the two of us out to the Alderman Moore allotment. It was a grey, still afternoon. The plots were empty and quiet, except for a black cat who picked his way silently over the vegetable patches. We parked up next to the shuttered allotment shop.... Read more
The lot is produced by the Musasa Dukunde Washing Station, one of the highest mills in Rwanda at a staggering 2020 metres above sea level. Here, coffee cherries are centrally processed from neighbouring small holders. Most of whom have seen their income from coffee at least double since the proliferation of this style of processing.... Last Thursday, Extract teamed up with New Dawn Traders to transform the roastery in to a tropical den. Multi-coloured African fabrics hung low from the warehouse walls and paper palm trees were assembled to help create a temporary illusion that we were really partying in the tropics. Outside, bikes lined the icy road and a... Read more
Last Wednesday we hosted our first Extract Cinema Club. We lined the walls of our bunker with fairy lights, dragged the comfy sofas in and covered the floor with a huge pile of cushions and blankets. Buttery popcorn was served in coffee bags and White Russians were sipped as the Dude drank his and lay... Read more
