Cream of the crop. Highlights from UK Latte Art 2017

So a couple of weeks ago we headed to Out Of The Box for the CIGS (Coffee in Good Spirits) and UK Latte Art 2017 finals. Our man Dan Lacey was one of the judges for this years Latte Art 2017 competition, here are some of his highlights.

1. Dhan Tamang, from Coffee Lab, proving once again that he is the UK’s best, with a pours so technically difficult most of us strain to even comprehend how he manages it. Winning the for the fifth consecutive year, we’re pretty sure this is a world first!

2. 2nd place, Heidi Philip-Smith also of Coffee Lab who entered the competition for the first time last year and after a solid first round performance this year said humbly that she just wanted to improve on last year. Well, 2nd in the country is one hell of an improvement. Congratulations Heidi

3. Overall the standard had improved markedly this year with people bringing ever more challenging and technical designs to the judges table. Some really great hospitality and promising stars of the future doing incredible well to keep their nerves at bay and shakes under control. Well done to everyone who stepped up this year.
