Behind roastery doors we are an eclectic mix of cyclists, runners, musicians, growers, bakers, bookworms, parents, artists, activists and allies. We care about things like fairness, listening, learning and helping others.
As individuals we are wildly and wonderfully different. As a team we are united in our commitment to making coffee better. A belief that coffee can change our world for the better.

Extract Coffee Roasters is a business driven by passion. Passion has led us to the finest restaurants in the country, and to barista training schools for the homeless.
We are passionate about coffee and about community. We're passionate about epic customer service and about protecting our planet.
More than anything we are passionate about the amazing and unique individuals who make up our team.

We are ethical
Do what's right. Not what's easy
Being ethical means making coffee better for our communities, for our growers and for the planet.
It's about building long-lasting grower relationships which coffee growers and rely upon year after year. It's using coffee as a vehicle for change in our communities to give others a leg up in life. It's finding ways to reduce our environmental impact: Renewable energy, recycling coffee waste, repurposing coffee sacks.
It's making the time to look after ourselves, and each other.

Quality - Driven by Knowledge
We believe that the key to making coffee better, is by generously sharing all that we know. Sharing our coffee knowledge with growers, baristas, machine suppliers, customers and also our local communities.
We provide training, mentorship and work experience with people fighting the effects of deprivation and homelessness across the UK.
Our campaigning coffees share messages about positive social change too, be that LGBTQ allyship, gender equity and mental health support.

Hand restored roasters. Experimental lots with farmers. A test roaster built from a paint gun. A training area built from scrap metal, a London base built from rubbish.

We are storytellers in the oldest sense. Just talking to people, sharing our experiences, sharing the stories of others.
We share the stories of our coffee growers, and how their lives are impacted by climate change. We share stories of deprivation in our communities, and the work we're doing to give others a leg up in life. We share the Extract story. A business built and shaped by all of us.
