About the Modbar Espresso System
A Modbar Espresso System is a real statement piece and an incredible feature in any premium speciality coffee bar.
The Modbar is an under-counter espresso solution. The boilers and mechanics of the machine are neatly tucked below the counter, with the portafilter and grouphead of the espresso machine built into your countertop.
The result is a super-sleek set up with clean lines, minimal distractions or clutter and maximum face time between the barista and the customer.
The Modbar is the product of years of collaboration between Modbar and La Marzocco. They combine La Marzocco's industry-leading barista technology with Modbar's minimal design which means it not only looks spectacular, but is a reliable, high-performance solution for busy speciality cafes.
The Modbar is available as an AV or EP model and can be fully customised to work with the design of your cafe or restaurant.
Of course, espresso is only part of your coffee story. To complete the look, you'll also need an under counter steamer and boiler tap for hot and cold drinks and americanos.
AV or EP? Which Modbar model is right for me?
Modbar AV (Auto-Volumetric)
AV stands for Auto Volumetric. This means that the espresso shot is started by the barista, then your Modbar AV automatically pours a pre-programmed amount of water through the grouphead to reach the right amount of coffee that you need. The benefit of this is consistency and barista efficiency.
The Modbar AV set up has the thermal stability, reliability and performance of La Marzocco's Linea PB so is a real workhorse for busy cafes.
Key features for the Modbar AV:
- System includes one espresso tap as standard
- One under-counter module can support two espresso taps
- No additional power required to support two taps
- Ideal for high-volume environments
- Simple controls and multi-position programmable lever
- Dose by volume, weight or continuously
- Auto back-flush and rinse programs
- Adaptable drip tray comes with or without a built-in scale and Linea volumetrics
- 4 saved programmes
- Option to add a tap system for two taps per module.
- Easy access to groups, water, power and drain connections for maintenance
- PID temperature control
- Simple heads-up display and shot timer
- Heated brew group
- La Marzocco portafilters
- Customisable chromed tap
- Custom handle finishes in walnut (standard) or maple.
Modbar EP
An EP espresso machine is operated manually. So baristas need to time and measure the coffee as it's poured. This gives baristas ultimate control over each coffee, shot and recipe.
The Modbar EP uses the same gear pump as the La Marzocco Strada EP, providing precise pressure control to support unique extraction curves for each coffee.
Key features for the Modbar EP:
- Multi-function brew lever, heated grouphead and shot timer
- 3-zone PID temperature control and 2 progressive boilers
- Sleek, customisable chromed tap
- Pressure profiling, volumetric dosing, & brew temp control
- Manual and automatic modes
- Automatic rinse and cleaning programs
- Control over brewing temp and pressure
- Heads-up display
- Heated brew group
- La Marzocco portafilters
