About the Coffee

A rich, medium-dark coffee with flavours of dark chocolate, fruit loaf and toffee apple that soften in milk to create a smooth and balanced staple for our wonderful and conscious customers.

Meet the Cooperative

Founded in 2001 by a small group of farmers who are all determined to grow coffee the right way, COMSA now has over 1,500 members who are all producing Organic coffee. It is quickly becoming one of the largest and most influential coffee cooperatives in Honduras. They are professional to the core, yet deeply rooted in community; their work challenges what a coffee organisation can and should be.

They have so much to shout about, they invest in their community with free organic farming training, innovative soil health programmes and have a deep commitment to biodiversity. They care deeply about being coffee farmers who care for people and planet.

A New Generation of Changemakers

In a region where educational opportunities are often limited by resources rather than potential, COMSA is proactively shaping the future with a COMSA International School, a bold and innovative education project built from the ground up.

The school began with just 65 students in 2015, but with a big vision. Today, it educates nearly 200 pupils across all age groups. Now with plans underway to expand the secondary school’s library and add a cafeteria, the school is investing not only in infrastructure but in a better future for its students.

Students participate in balance and climbing exercises three times a day and rotate through fast-paced micro-lessons on maths, English, history and nature. All are delivered in short dynamic bursts, drawing inspiration from the Glenn Doman method that was originally developed to enhance brain development in young children.

“Rooted in their culture, fluent in many worlds, ready to innovate and lead with respect and vision”

COSMA International School is a living example of what can happen when a cooperative invests deeply in its community, not as a side project, but as a core part of its mission to cultivate positive change.
