STEP BY STEP GUIDE: HOW TO MANAGE MULTIPLE DRINKS ORDERS

  1. SET UP YOUR STATION FOR SERVICE

Make sure your grinder is dialled in and dosing correctly and that the hopper is full of beans

Remove milk tabs from the milk bottles you'll be using on (fiddly with wet fingers in a rush!)

Empty your knock box before service begins.

  2. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF THESE

    Spare clean jugs

Enough takeaway cups for the day

Warm cups on the top of the machine and stacks of saucers

    Loads of teaspoons

    Microfibre cloths for cleaning

  3. ORDER OF SERVICE

Start with the largest, milkiest drinks (they stay hotter for longer) and finish with the espresso and americano.

    1. Cold milk into jug

    2. Shots on and extracting

    3. Then start steaming the milk

  4. SPLITTING THE MILK

Pouring two great looking coffees using one jug of steamed milk saves you time when you need it most. This is called ‘splitting’ here's how to do it:

    1. Steam one larger jug of milk rather that two smaller ones.

    2. Pour half the steamed milk into another jug.

    3. Check the foam is evenly split between both jugs.

    4. Pour each drink and check the texture is correct.

  5. TIPS FOR SPLITTING MILK LIKE A PRO

Warm the second jug with a blast of steam.

Practice pouring from different sized jugs.
