We’ve carefully roasted, ground and packed some of our favourite coffees into individual, recyclable sachets which are nitro-flushed to keep them super fresh.
This means Extract Coffee Bags stay delicious for longer.
An alternative to coffee pods
For us, coffee pods just didn’t cut it. Leftover empty capsules and costly machines which need maintaining. There had to be a simpler solution.
We prefer our compostable coffee bags. Less hassle, less mess, less equipment (mug, kettle, spoon), less damage to the environment.

If you'd like to buy some Extract Coffee Bags to drink at home or take on holiday, you can buy packs of 16 coffee bags in our online shop.

How do you brew Extract Coffee Bags?
Extract Coffee Bags are really easy to brew which is what makes them such a great in-room or meeting-room coffee solution.
Place the bag in a cup & cover with hot water, but do not fill the whole cup. Jiggle the bag to help infusion & fill with the remaining hot water. Leave to brew for 5 minutes. Squeeze & remove bag. Great black or with milk.

It's true! Extract Coffee Bags taste far better than anything else out there. This is for two reasons:
Firstly, we use speciality grade, artisan coffee. In fact, the coffee in Extract Coffee Bags is exactly the same grade and quality as the whole-bean coffee we sell. We roast the coffee ourselves, here in our award-winning roastery on hand-restored vintage coffee roasters.
Secondly, we use more coffee in our bags than other brands. Quite a lot more actually. That's why coffee brewed using Extract Coffee Bags have more developed flavour, more body and are simply more delicious all-round.
Extract Coffee Bags are ethically sourced and 100% traceable
Single Origin coffee bags are almost unheard of in the market today. We're proud to offer real transparency in the supply chain for our Coffee Bags. The coffee in Extract Coffee Bags is ethically sourced from growers we know and trust. We can give 100% traceability back to the individual farms we work with for each of the coffees in our range.
Extract Coffee Bags are compostable and recyclable
Once brewed, the coffee bags, string and tag are fully compostable and can be added to home compost or in with your food waste.
The wraps are made from recyclable PPE and can be recycled along with your carrier bags at the local supermarket.
The boxes are cardboard and can go in your cardboard recycling.
Who are Extract Coffee Roasters?
Extract Coffee Roasters is an artisan, speciality coffee roaster on a mission to make coffee better.
We started in 2007 and are based in Bristol and London, UK. We're a full service roaster. That means we help customers with their entire coffee service. From beans to machines and barista training.
Our coffee is ethically sourced, perfectly crafted and served in hundreds of homes, offices, hotels, bars and restaurants across the UK. We use coffee to give others a leg up in life, supporting local and national community projects through our Grounds Up Charity Collective.
If all that wasn't enough, we were awarded the UK's Best All-Round Speciality Coffee Roaster in the UK Coffee Awards in 2022. After 15 years of just quietly doing our thing, that was quite the achievement.
