Production Operative

Join our production team

Looking to start or grow your career in specialty coffee? Join our production team at Extract Coffee Roasters and help us Make Coffee Better.

We’re an independent coffee roastery with a purpose: Make Coffee Better. Better for coffee growers. Better for customers. Better for the planet. Built by hand. Driven by heart.

We’re looking for a practical, reliable, and detail-focused person to become a key part of our busy roastery team. This is a hands-on, full-time role working Monday to Friday, based at our Bristol roastery. We work in a 8-hour shift, with varying start and finish times between 7:00am and 6:00pm

Whether you're packing beans, preparing orders, supporting quality control or assisting the roasting crew, your work will help deliver coffee that’s better for people and planet.

What you’ll do

  • Pack and label wholesale and retail coffee orders by hand
  • Grind coffee to order with care and consistency
  • Support logistics and dispatch — getting coffee out the door on time
  • Work alongside the roasting team with green coffee deliveries and roasting prep
  • Keep the roastery clean, organised, and safe
  • Record weights, batch numbers and packing info accurately
  • Join in quality checks and cuppings
  • Help us keep improving our sustainability practices as part of our B Corp commitments
  • Occasionally welcome visitors and help represent the Extract brand
  • What you’ll bring

  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • A “can do” attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work on your feet and safely handle physical tasks (like lifting coffee sacks – training provided)
  • Reliability, positivity, and a team-first mindset
  • Why join us

We’re serious about creating a supportive, inclusive, and fair workplace. You’ll get:

  • £25,400 - £27,000 based on experience & qualifications
  • Full training and development opportunities
  • 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (rising with service)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Wellbeing support and In-house yoga classes
  • Excellent coffee, every day
  • Opportunities to grow into roles in roasting, logistics, or technical services
  • A team that values curiosity, kindness, and learning from each other
  • Warehouse or production experience?

Experience in a warehouse, production, or food environment is a bonus — but it’s not essential.

We’ll provide full training. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels. You’ll be supported by a kind, skilled, and values-driven team who believe in learning by doing, working with care, and helping each other grow.

    Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

We actively support diversity and inclusion and ensure that all our employees are valued and treated with dignity and respect. We want to encourage everyone in our business to reach their potential.

We work to ensure no job applicant, employee or worker is discriminated against either directly or indirectly on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

    HERE'S HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the job, email our Production Manager, Mac with your CV and a cover letter. You’ll be joining a supportive, hands-on team that values integrity, optimism, and learning by doing. All while helping Make Coffee Better.
